Ginger Gummies

9 MONTHS THAT COUNT FOREVER

During the first trimester of my pregnancy, I searched far and wide to find the best remedy for my nausea.

The ones I found, and which worked well for me, were the Morning Sickness Relief Gummies by FullWell.

I had them in my purse every time I went out.

(I have no affiliation or partnership with this brand. I'm simply recommending on what I used during my personal pregnancy journey)

They contain 500mg of strong ginger extract per serving (serving = 2 gummies), which is more than most ginger gummies on the market.

FullWell also do independent third-party testing for heavy metals on their products, which is something to consider when choosing a brand of gummies or supplements whilst pregnant.

The only downside is that they do contain a little bit of sugar (1g per serving, in the form of cane sugar). So I tried to have them after a meal rather than on a empty stomach.

The other technique I used for nausea was strong ginger tea. I know many brands sell their own packets of ginger tea, but I've personnally found that this DYI recipe worked best for me (and is much cheaper):

  • ½ inch of fresh ginger, peeled, and cut into thin slices or grated
  • 1 cup hot water poured on the sliced ginger in your favorite mug
  • leave to infuse for 7-9 minutes
  • optional: you can add a squeeze of lemon juice - this goes great with ginger

Avoid adding any honey or agave syrup, as this will likely spike your glucose and may actually worsen your nausea symptoms.

Another thing that helps with nausea is eating often. I always carried around a small bag of almonds (high in protein and healthy fats, and very low in glucose) and would have one every time I felt the nausea starting to creep back up.
